Outlined below is our assessment of the ranking for every active fighter who qualifies to contest for an Irish title in terms of their rating within each weight classification.
Each fighter is assessed on the basis of recent achievements, latest fights, performances and level of competition faced.
A panel of 13 individuals comprising Leonard Gunning (Boxing-Ireland.com – chairman), Tim Spelman (Boxing-Ireland.com), Padraig Hoare (Evening Echo), Ciaran Gallagher (Irish Daily Mail), Paddy Appleton (Irish-Boxing.com), Ciaran Harrison (Eastside Boxing Forum), Paddy Cronan (OnTheGrind Boxing), Sean Lynch (Boxing-Ireland.com), Gary Totton (Bunce Boxing Hour), Steve Wellings (BoxRec News), David Walshe (IrishBoxers.ie), Kevin Finn (Boxing-Ireland.com) and Kevin Byrne (The Irish Sun) have come together to assess each fighters position.
The panelists score all fighters within a weight class and all marks are combined. Should a draw occur then the chairman’s vote decides.
Previous ranking at 14 March 2011 are now updated to 1 June 2012.
If you are aware of any other fighters who are eligible to fight for an Irish title or have moved weight categories please contact us and we will include them in our next revision.
